Nursery & Reception FAQs

Common Questions
What age can my child start Nursery?
Children can join our Nursery from their second birthday. We offer flexible sessions to suit your family's needs, with the option to increase hours as your child settles.
Do you accept government funding?
Yes, we accept the 15 and 30 hours government funding for eligible 3 and 4 year olds. Please contact the office to discuss how this can be applied to your fees.
What is the staff-to-child ratio?
We maintain excellent ratios: 1:4 for under 3s, 1:8 for 3-4 year olds, and Reception classes have a maximum of 16 children with a teacher and teaching assistant.
Is there a waiting list?
Nursery and Reception places are popular and we recommend registering early. We maintain a waiting list and offer places as they become available. Siblings receive priority.
What happens after Reception?
Children automatically progress to Year 1 in our Pre-Prep department. The school continues through to Year 6, preparing pupils for entrance exams to leading senior schools.
