Mr Pushkar Acharya

Chair of Governors

Pushkar Acharya has more than 25 years' experience across investment banking, trading and portfolio management. He has held senior positions at Capula Investment Management, Point72, NatWest Markets and Nomura, and has deployed and managed capital in excess of US$20 billion. He holds a master's degree with First Class Distinction from Imperial College London, where he studied as a British Chevening Scholar.

As Chair of the Governing Body, Pushkar has one clear ambition: to help make Vita et Pax one of the finest preparatory schools in the country, while keeping every child at the heart of all that it does. Pushkar believes children thrive when academic ambition is matched by warmth and care. For him, the real difference is made by teachers who understand each child — their strengths, their struggles and what helps them flourish — and use that knowledge to build confidence and help them achieve more than they thought possible.

Pushkar also believes learning should be stimulating and full of curiosity — and that in a world of screens and AI, sport matters more than ever, helping to build resilience, friendship and healthy minds and bodies.

Pushkar believes good governance means listening. He welcomes ideas and honest challenge from pupils, parents, teachers, alumni and the wider community, and is always glad to discuss how Vita et Pax can do even better for every child.
