Harvest Donations to Foodbank

Posted: 3rd October 2024

Harvest Celebration at Vita et Pax Preparatory School

This week, our school community came together to celebrate the spirit of harvest, marking a special time of gratitude, reflection, and giving. In a heartfelt assembly, the children proudly brought in beautifully decorated boxes, each filled with non-perishable food items. The atmosphere was full of excitement as students eagerly presented their donations, fully aware that their contributions would make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.

At Vita et Pax, we believe that the true meaning of harvest lies in the act of giving, and this year’s celebration was a perfect opportunity to put that into action. All of the donated items were delivered to Mary Immaculate and St Peter’s Catholic Church in New Barnet, where they will be distributed to local families through the food bank. This act of kindness ensures that people in our community who are struggling to provide for their families will receive much-needed support during this important time of year.

The harvest assembly was not just about the food we have, but also about appreciating what we often take for granted, and remembering the importance of sharing with others. The children’s enthusiasm for helping those in need reflected the core values of our school: compassion, community, and service. It was inspiring to see our students, from the youngest to the oldest, so eager to contribute to such a meaningful cause.

This year’s harvest celebration was a beautiful reminder that together, we can make a positive impact. The generosity shown by our students and their families will go a long way in supporting others. We are incredibly proud of the spirit of community and giving that flourished during this event.

As we reflect on the harvest season, it’s a time to be thankful for all that we have and to remember the importance of sharing. We hope this celebration inspires everyone to continue looking for ways to support and uplift others throughout the year. The kindness shown during our harvest celebration truly embodies the values that make Vita et Pax Preparatory School such a special place.
