Governing Body

Chris Howell MBE is a former student and parent of Vita et Pax Preparatory School. Chris has also received an MBE for his architectural designs and services. Chris joined the governing body in September 1995.

Our Vice Chair of the Governing body, Assim Jemal, is an educational coordinator and the Principal of St Albans Independent College. Assim is also the parent of a former Vita et Pax pupil. Assim joined our Governing body in September 2018.

Kaya attended Vita Et Pax from 1990-1993.  She then attended secondary school in Hertfordshire following which she progressed to Goldsmith’s University of London to read psychology. She spent some time working as a behavioural psychologist with children with learning disabilities after graduating.

Kaya went on to train as a doctor at the University of Leicester in 2004 and undertook further postgraduate training to become a Consultant Anaesthetist at a tertiary hospital in London. She is heavily involved in training the doctors of tomorrow as well as nurses, paramedics, and midwives.

Kaya is passionate about learning and education and is pursuing a postgraduate certificate of medical education.  Kaya has keen interests in wellbeing and is a qualified hatha and vinyasa yoga & meditation teacher and she teaches professionally in a south London yoga studio.  Her interests include photography, hiking and surfing.  Kaya has been a governor since 2020.

Anna Howell is a distinguished lawyer and former student of the school. Anna’s children also attended Vita et Pax, before the family relocated to Hong Kong. Anna has been a member of our governing body since October 2019.
