Vita et Pax Preparatory School Shines at the Mini London Marathon
On Saturday 26th April, pupils, staff, and families from Vita et Pax Preparatory School proudly joined thousands of others to take part in the inspirational Mini London Marathon — an event sponsored by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). This unique experience gave children the exciting chance to run the final mile of the iconic London Marathon route, from Horse Guards Parade to the magnificent finish line at Buckingham Palace.
The event was much more than just a run. It was a celebration of health, community, and determination. Fitness expert and national treasure Joe Wicks was on hand to lead a high-energy warm-up, helping the children stretch and prepare safely before setting off. His infectious enthusiasm lifted the spirits of everyone in attendance and got the day off to a fantastic start.
The atmosphere throughout the event was simply electric. Cheers echoed down The Mall as runners of all ages gave it their best, supported by proud parents, teachers, and volunteers. Vita et Pax pupils embraced the challenge with determination and joy, truly capturing the spirit of the school. Whether it was their first race or one of many, each child finished with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
In a wonderful initiative, event sponsor TCS pledged to donate £10 for every child who completed the race. Thanks to the amazing effort of our pupils, this means our school contributed not only in spirit but also financially to causes that support young people and sport. It’s an honour to be part of something that gives back in such a meaningful way.
A huge congratulations to all of our students who ran with heart and courage. Special thanks to Mrs Wharton and Mrs Kuncewicz for taking part alongside the children, and to all the parents whose support and encouragement made the day extra special.
We are already looking forward to next year’s Mini London Marathon — and hope to return with an even bigger team!
