Careers Day at Vita et Pax Preparatory and Nursery School
On Tuesday 3rd June, Vita et Pax Preparatory and Nursery School in Enfield, North London, held its exciting annual Careers Day, bringing inspiration, imagination, and real-world learning into the classroom. The school was buzzing with energy as children arrived dressed as their future career aspirations. From Prime Ministers, doctors, surgeons and scientists to singers, actors—and even the Tooth Fairy!—the creativity and enthusiasm on display truly embodied the spirit of the day.
At Vita et Pax, we believe in nurturing children’s aspirations from an early age. Careers Day is just one of the many ways we introduce our pupils to the diverse world of work. We welcomed a wide range of parents who volunteered their time to share insights into their professions. Our young learners heard from lawyers, pharmacists, fashion designers, and more. Each guest spoke with passion and care, offering detailed explanations of their work and creating engaging role-play activities that brought their careers to life.
Teachers across the school embraced the theme, delivering career-focused lessons designed to spark curiosity and broaden horizons. From designing inventions in science to writing job applications in literacy, the entire day was rooted in real-world connections.
One of the highlights was a special visit from the Metropolitan Police. Sergeant Kidd, PC Emily, and three PCSOs visited the school to speak about their roles in keeping communities safe. Children were fascinated as they learned how to become a police officer and what the job involves. They even had the chance to try on uniforms and ask questions.
