North London Prep School Enjoys Inspiring Music Workshop at St Edmund’s College
On Wednesday 2nd July, pupils from Vita et Pax Preparatory School, a nurturing North London prep school based in Enfield, were warmly welcomed to St Edmund’s College in Ware for a day of musical exploration and creativity.
The event, organised by Mr O’Brien, Director of Music at St Edmund’s, offered a vibrant and engaging music workshop that brought together children from various schools. Known for its strong emphasis on family values and holistic education, Vita et Pax Prep School saw this as a perfect opportunity to further enrich its students’ learning experience beyond the classroom.
The pupils were divided into smaller groups to explore a range of musical disciplines. Some focused on singing, while others delved into the rhythms of drumming or the melodic challenges of string instruments. Guided by expert instructors and the inspiring facilities of St Edmund’s, the children eagerly immersed themselves in each session, learning new skills and building confidence in their musical abilities.
The highlight of the day came when all the groups gathered in the stunning chapel at St Edmund’s College. There, surrounded by beautiful architecture and an atmosphere of shared joy, the children had the opportunity to perform what they had learned for each other. This uplifting finale showcased not only their individual progress but also the power of collaboration and creativity.
Mrs Lynch, Headteacher of Vita et Pax Prep School, said, “It was a joy to see our children so engaged and enthusiastic. Events like this reflect our commitment to nurturing the whole child—academically, creatively and socially.”
The children returned to Enfield full of excitement, with many already asking when they can visit again. This memorable experience is just one example of how Vita et Pax continues to provide opportunities that reflect its family-centred ethosand commitment to a nurturing learning environment.
