Vita et Pax Pupils Lead the Way at TFL School Ambassadors Seminar

This week, a group of confident and enthusiastic pupils from Vita et Pax Preparatory and Nursery, a leading private school in Enfield, took part in a special TFL (Travel for Life) School Ambassadors Seminar in Chalk Farm, North London. This unique event brought together young ambassadors from across the capital with a shared goal: to champion active, sustainable travel within their school communities.

Our pupils travelled to the event via public transport—an important part of the experience that reinforced the importance of using greener travel methods. Upon arrival, they joined other primary schools for a day packed with learning, collaboration, and fun.

The seminar included two engaging and interactive workshops. The first focused on designing a school-wide competition that promotes active travel, encouraging children to walk, cycle or scoot to school wherever possible. Pupils worked in small groups to come up with creative and realistic campaign ideas that they will now bring back to Vita et Pax. Their aim is to inspire their peers to make healthier and more environmentally friendly travel choices every day.

The second workshop focused on public speaking—a vital life skill that aligns with our school’s commitment to developing confident communicators. The children were taught techniques to stay calm when nervous, how to project their voices effectively, and how to structure a persuasive pitch to different types of audiences. The session helped boost their confidence and prepared them to present their active travel campaign to our school community.

At Vita et Pax Preparatory and Nursery, we take pride in developing the whole child. Events like this reflect our strong emphasis on family values, leadership, and responsibility. As a private school rooted in Enfield’s community, we aim to nurture pupils who care about the world around them and are equipped to make a positive difference.

Our travel ambassadors returned to school full of enthusiasm and purpose. They are now working on ways to share what they’ve learned with their classmates and launch their own travel initiatives in the coming weeks. These projects will not only support a greener school environment but also foster a greater sense of unity and purpose among pupils.

We are incredibly proud of their efforts and the way they represented Vita et Pax. This experience is just one example of how we provide meaningful opportunities for our children to grow as leaders, thinkers, and compassionate citizens.

Stay tuned for exciting updates as our ambassadors roll out their plans and help shape a more sustainable future for our school community.
